This Rapid Tank Heater provides a silent and economical method of heating liquids on tanks by direct steam injection. Steam and the liquid are rapidly mixed within the body of the unit and effectively circulated throughout the tank with even heat distribution. Liquid can be heated provided it is compatible with the tank heater material. This design is a multi-jet assembly, with the number of jets varying according to the steam capacity required. When the steam valve is opened the velocity of the steam issuing from the jets, which are inserted in the neck of the venturi, induces the liquid through the slots at the inlet, heats it and discharges the mixture through the outlet mouthpiece. As with all systems of heating by direct steam injection, the best results are obtained with low steam inlet pressures. Steam should be as dry as possible.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard units are designed for up to 200 p.s.i steam pressure. The Steam Control Valve should be fully open during the initial heating period. When the liquid approaches the desired temperature, the Control Valve should be regulated to maintain constant liquid temperature with gentle circulation. Alternatively, thermostatic control may be arranged.

INSTALLATION
The heater must be completely immersed in the liquid with the outlet mouthpiece not more than 6” from the bottom of the tank. The steam supply line to which the heater is attached should be firmly clamped in at least one place to the wall of the tank. In large vessels, better heat distribution is obtained by using several small tank heaters in preference to a single large unit.
